Being a patron of the Silver Creek Swim School doesn’t provide access to Family Swim. Only members of ClubSport San Jose have access to Family Swim, it’s one of the benefits of membership. Both parent/guardian and child must be members to take advantage of Family Swim.
Family Swim time is a great opportunity for your swimmer to practice what they’ve learned in their weekly lesson. Improving one’s swimming is just like learning a musical instrument – if you only play the instrument during your lesson, improvement is slow. Practice makes perfect, Family Swim time allows for parent and child bonding/play while your child practices their swimming.
Being a member of ClubSport also entitles you to a healthy discount on your swim lessons. Membership has its privileges and perks…
See the ClubSport Membership Team for details on becoming a member or email [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you in the pool!

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Swim lesson participants are required to check-in at the Front Desk each time upon entering the premises. Present your Appointment Card or email confirmation of a make-up class at time of Check-In. On the first day of class, please arrive on the Pool Deck 5-minutes early in order to meet your instructor and find out the location of your class. Please know your class level and class start time – once on the Pool Deck, ask Aquatics Staff for directions to your class.
Please set aside enough time before your lesson to feed your child a light snack (carbohydrates, no dairy or protein) and for them to use the bathroom. Lack of doing so can affect your child’s participation and can cause them to be cold in the water.
Towel usage is limited to Silver Creek Swim School participants only. Due to a high demand and in an effort to provide towels for all, we ask that each swim participant use a maximum of two (2) towels
Please watch swim lessons from the glassed-in Viewing Area. In addition, stay seated during lessons – this benefits your child’s swim lessons as well as their peers. Minimizing their distractions helps the teacher build a relationship with them, and can also take away their “audience” if they are struggling in class. On-Deck viewing is not allowed.
- Swim Suit
- Flip flops, deck shoes, and/or shower shoes
- Swim diaper for all swimmers 4 and under, even if potty trained: A disposable swim diaper UNDER a reusable swim diaper
Parents are not allowed to leave the building during swim lesson, ideally you remain in the Viewing Area. To enjoy Family Swim after swim lessons, each swimmer must be a ClubSport member. All children 7 years of age or older, who are safe swimmers, may swim without a parent/guardian in the water (subject to Lifeguard discretion). The parent or guardian must stay in the facility, and ideally you stay in the Viewing Area. For all other rules and guidelines, please see our complete list located at the Aquatics Office and on our website.
Please supervise your children in the Family Locker Room at all times. It is important to us that we are considerate of all members in the Club. Children are not allowed in either of the ClubSport Adult Locker Rooms. Be considerate of fellow swim school patrons by placing belongings in lockers, using only 2 towels per swimmer, picking up your wet/used towels, and respecting others’ privacy while they are changing.
Entry to ClubSport is limited to ClubSport members. The only exception is for Swim Lesson participants. On the day of the scheduled swim lesson – non-member, adult guardians (limit 2) will be allowed/required to escort the swimmer to the pool area. At all other times (no lesson scheduled), Member adult parent must escort child members who want to use the pool. Non-member parents are not allowed to enter the Club to “watch” swimming or for any other reason – ClubSport San Jose is a private, membership Club. Lap Pool (non-lesson pool) use is reserved for ClubSport Members only. Participants in the Silver Creek Swim School, who are not ClubSport members – please wait in the viewing area until class starts and are asked to exit the facilities upon completion of their swim class.
Our Lesson Pool is heated to 90 degrees and our Lap Pool is heated to 83 degrees.
2 complimentary make-ups are offered during weeks 8, 9, and 10 of each session. Make-up lessons must be completed within the respective session. Make-up lessons may be scheduled in advance of the absence. On a case-by-case basis, we will allow make-up lessons to roll to the next session, provided you are registered for the upcoming session. Please contact the Aquatics Manager for assistance with this, [email protected]
Make-ups for Private Lessons are dependent on both the availability of the instructor, as well as the student. A 24 hours cancellation notice is required in order to be eligible for a make-up lesson, otherwise the class is forfeited. All make-up lessons must be redeemed no later than the subsequent session. No more than 2 schedule changes per session are allowed.
All requests for a credit due to a medical situation need to have a written acknowledgement by a medical practitioner. No consideration will be given to missed classes from past sessions. Credits are issued on a case- by- case basis and need to be redeemed in the subsequent session or they will be forfeited.
Consistent class attendance contributes to natural and fluid learning. The more classes your child attends, the better your child’s progress will be. Payment and enrollment is for an entire session, not individual classes in a “pay as you go” fashion. Therefore, refunds, credits or substitutions for Group Lessons are not available.*
- Missed classes will not be rescheduled – we do encourage your child to attend class, even if they arrive late.
- Refunds or credits for missed classes are not offered.
- If a student begins classes after the Session has already begun, the session cost will be prorated to the appropriate start date.
*Credits for medical situations, supported with a written acknowledgement from a licensed medical practitioner will be reviewed from the date we received. All requests must be made in writing. Medical consideration will only be given for the current session. No consideration will be given to classes missed for past sessions. Credits are issued only on a case-by-case basis and can only be approved by the Aquatics Manager. Any credits issued must be completed within one Session from the date issued and can only be redeemed at Silver Creek Swim School.
